West Ham set for ‘big advantage’ in survival bid after source’s Danny Ings update – pundit
West Ham are about to seal a big advantage in their bid to stay in the Premier League with Danny Ings nearing a move.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Irons’ chances of staying up this season.
On Thursday, sources told Football Insider that Ings has agreed personal terms with West Ham as their bid to lure him from Aston Villa edges closer.

The striker, 30, is in talks to join the Hammers before the window shuts, with the two clubs believed to be discussing a fee of around £10million.
According to the Daily Mail‘s Dominic King (4 January), Everton had a bid to sign Ings on loan rejected by Aston Villa.
Ahead of the game between West Ham and Everton this weekend, McManus claims the Hammers will have a much better chance of staying up.
“Ings isn’t someone who is going to beat five men and stick it in the top corner, that’s not his game,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“But he is a goalscorer and that’s what both teams need. Antonio has dropped off the face of the earth and Scamacca isn’t scoring.
“The same can be said about Everton and I know both sides are interested. I think whoever gets him, and it’s looking like West Ham, has a big advantage in that race to stay up.
“Ings will get you eight or so goals before the end of the season if he plays every week. He’s a better option than what both sides currently have.
“It’s a big move for him too, to go to West Ham. A great club to join.”

Ings has made 18 total appearances for Aston Villa this season though only eight of those have been starts.
He has scored six goals in those outings.
