West Ham tipped to beat Everton to ‘sensational’ Lingard signing after source’s update – pundit
Paddy Kenny insists West Ham would re-sign Jesse Lingard “in a heartbeat” amid the latest on his future.
The former Leeds United stopper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claims the attacker would also be open to a return to East London.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that talks with Lingard, 28, over a new contract have collapsed and the player has no intention to restart negotiations.
The sacking of Ole Gunnar Solksjaer yesterday will not change that and Lingard’s representatives are convinced his future lies away from Old Trafford and a January transfer is now likely.
As revealed by Football Insider (19th November), Lingard is among five stars who can leave Old Trafford in January.
The attacker has only been handed eight appearances in all competitions so far this season.
On 19 November, Lingard sparked speculation after sharing a photo of himself playing for West Ham on his Instagram.
Kenny sees no reason why Lingard won’t rejoin the Hammers either in January or in the summer.
“I don’t see why Lingard wouldn’t join West Ham,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“They are flying. They are doing well in Europe and pushing the top four.
“Moyes has them playing really well and they look solid. There is a really good squad there.
“We all know how well Lingard performed there last season and there was talk about him going back in the summer.
“I’m sure West Ham would take him back in a heartbeat and I think Lingard would probably want to go back.
“That’s one for the fans to keep an eye on, for sure. Whether it be in January or in the summer it would be a sensational signing.”

Lingard scored nine goals and chipped in with four assists during his loan spell with the Hammers last season.
His only league goal this season came against his former side on 19 September.
In other news, the Hammers have been tipped to make a ‘massive statement’ regarding Declan Rice.
