West Ham tipped to complete ‘bargain’ deal for ‘next Jarrod Bowen’ – Moyes pal
David Moyes could transform Brennan Johnson into the next Jarrod Bowen if he completes a move to West Ham, according to his pal Danny Mills.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Leeds United and England defender claimed West Ham would be able to complete a “bargain” deal for Johnson.
A recruitment source told Football Insider on Tuesday (1 March) the 20-year-old is in no rush to sign a new Nottingham Forest contract amid interest from the Hammers.

He wants to reassess his options in the summer window in what is a big boost to his potential suitors that also include Leeds United, Crystal Palace and Brentford.
Asked for his verdict on a potential move for Johnson, Mills, who is good friends with David Moyes, told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “If West Ham are seriously interested, they’ll be looking at him and saying to him ‘Look at what we’ve done with Jarrod Bowen. We’ve taken him on, improved him with game time and now he’s on the verge of a possible England squad call up. If you join us, look at what we can do for you’.
“David Moyes has a great track record of taking players from the Championship, improving them and kicking on.
“From West Ham’s point of view it will be a bargain. They’re not going to be spending an awful lot of money when there was talk of Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips at £100million-plus. Nobody really expected that to happen.

“David Moyes is used to fishing in a much smaller pond with a lot less money when it comes to transfers.
“On the face of it, it would sound about right, that sort of transfer.”
In other news, West Ham have been tipped to sign another Championship sensation ‘similar to Eden Hazard’.
