West Ham tipped to move for Joe Worrall after insider’s reveal – pundit
West Ham will pursue a summer move for former England Under-21 defender Joe Worrall if Nottingham Forest aren’t promoted to the Premier League, according to Noel Whelan.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the Irons won’t be the only side in for the 25-year-old if Forest fall short in the final weeks of this term.
West Ham insiders Claret and Hugh reported last month (14 March) that David Moyes’ side are poised to make a move for Worrall this summer.
The Hammers have just one fit senior centre-back at present with Angelo Ogbonna, Kurt Zouma, and Issa Diop all on the treatment table.
Worrall has been named in the Championship Team of the Season after his stellar season at the City Ground.
Whelan tipped Moyes to work his magic yet again with another second-tier star.
“I’m sure Worrall is still on the radar for West Ham,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“They’ll be keeping a close eye on whether or not Forest get promotion in the coming weeks.
“That’ll probably determine whether or not they can get that deal over the line. If Forest don’t go up, I don’t think West Ham will be the only club in for him.
“Moyes is an excellent man-manager and has been so great with these Championship players, and Worrall would be another one.”

Forest sit three points adrift of Bournemouth – who occupy the second automatic promotion place with three games remaining.
West Ham are seventh in the Premier League with four games remaining.
