West Ham will sign ‘perfect’ striker for cut-price fee in January after newspaper update – Kenny
West Ham will wait until January to sign a “perfect” striker on a cut-price deal.
So says ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Irons’ long-running hunt for a centre-forward.
This site revealed on 15 August that West Ham lost out to Roma in the race for Tammy Abraham, who now earns £130,000-a-week for his new team.

The Express reported on 24 August that West Ham have rejected the chance to sign Abraham, Alassane Plea, Luuk de Jong and Odsonne Edouard.
Besides turning Craig Dawson’s loan move into a permanent switch, West Ham are yet to sign a senior player this summer.
And Kenny insists that Davis Moyes will continue with his patient approach and resume his striker search when the January window opens.
“They have had a great start and scored a fair few goals already,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“They have turned a few strikers down, most recently Tammy Abraham. But they are working within a certain financial budget at the moment.
“With Abraham, I think they could afford the transfer fee but he was demanding wages that were a lot higher than they could afford.

“They will stick to their budget and wait for that perfect centre-forward to come along.
“They could get someone in January who has got six months or even a year-and-a-half left on their contract. That way they go down in value.”
