West Ham told to reject Mohammed Kudus ‘bid’ as they face losing star man – pundit

West Ham United “will struggle” to keep Mohammed Kudus for the long term if they do not qualify for the Champions League consistently.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Tottenham and England goalkeeper Paul Robinson hailed the forward’s “outstanding” displays for the Hammers since his reported £38million move last summer.

The Ghana international has been one of David Moyes’ standout performers having bagged 11 goals and four assists in 34 appearances this season.

His incredible technical ability and impact have given the Hammers’ side a new creative spark, with many fans believing he is capable of excelling at a higher level.

West Ham can only keep Mohammed Kudus “for so long”

Robinson claimed that West Ham must keep Kudus in order to progress, but suggested it could only be a matter of time before top European clubs come knocking for his services.

“Teams like West Ham and others that aren’t in the Champions League will always have big problems keeping players like Kudus,” he told Football Insider.

“Kudus has taken them to another level and I think he’s been excellent for them.

“By another level, I mean the type of players that they’re signing.

“His performances have been outstanding, especially in the Europa League against Freiburg.

“He’s the type of player that they will need to keep if they want to take that next step.

“If West Ham do want to be knocking on the door of the Champions League, similar to Aston Villa and Tottenham this year, then these are the types of players they need to rebuff bids for.

“But if they don’t and they’re in the Conference League or Europa League, then there’s only so long they could keep hold of him because players want to be in the Champions League.

“If Kudus keeps playing how he is, they will struggle to keep him.”
