It has been quite the week of football for West Ham United's Crysencio Summerville, who is now starring at the 2026 World Cup.

Before this summer, the exciting winger had never made his debut for the Netherlands national team. Now, he has three appearances and one important goal to his name.

It was hardly a surprise to see him called up to the squad, even despite the disappointment at the London Stadium, having notched seven goals and three assists for the Hammers in 2025-26.

The trouble for the Hammers, though, is that the dangerous attacker continues to be linked with a move away this summer, and this tournament will only be a platform to impress his potential suitors.

Although Daniel Kretinsky, now majority shareholder, has sent out a rally cry, believing that the Irons have no need to sell, many supporters are resigned to losing their star Dutchman.

His chances of securing a big-money move would have just increased exponentially, but that could also mean a big pay-out for the recently relegated Hammers.

Crysencio Summerville to use 2026 World Cup as a shop window

Summerville was all over Japan like a rash on Sunday, 14 June, scoring a stunner, being cautioned, and running his opposite numbers ragged on the right flank.

West Ham supporters would not have been surprised in the slightest, given his 2025-26 campaign in East London, and European clubs are already beginning to call his name.

The Hammers bought the 24-year-old for just £25million in the summer of 2024, and after potential add-ons, the soon-to-be Championship outfit will still be hoping to make a decent profit this summer.

It is believed that Champions League clubs, such as Aston Villa, could offer upwards of £40m for his signature, but that might be about to rise.

The goal itself may have already added another £5m to his price tag, and before the tournament ends, he could even be up to the £50m mark.

Which clubs could sign Summerville this summer?

As discussed, Villa are strongly linked with a move for the dangerous attacker, but anything over £40m could be out of their price range this summer.

AC Milan, PSG and Napoli have all been mentioned in the conversation, but it would appear that Roma could be his likeliest destination following recent quotes from Donyell Malen.

The Villans might now be regretting the decision to let him leave, especially if he plays a key role in the Serie A giants securing Summerville's signature.

The former winger has already urged the West Ham star to think outside of the Premier League this summer, and the duo are likely to share many more moments on the pitch during this World Cup.
