West Ham will regret ‘four’ missed signing opportunities after £17m update – pundit
West Ham will “regret” their failure to sign a centre-forward over the summer despite having “three or four” on their radar.
So says ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after the transfer window closed last night (31 August).
The Hammers signed midfielder Alex Kral in a £17million loan-to-buy deal before the deadline, as first reported by this site earlier that day.

Croatian playmaker Nikola Vlasic also signed on 31 August and joined Kurt Zouma, Craig Dawson and Alphonse Areola among the summer signings.
But David Moyes was unable to lure a striker to the London Stadium despite previously eyeing the likes of Divock Origi and Tammy Abraham.
And Kenny claims that West Ham could therefore be in big trouble if star goalscorer Michail Antonio is injured or suspended this season.
“I really do think they’ll regret it,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“I can only see Antonio being their main striker. If anything happens to him, if he gets a knock or a suspension, I can really see them struggling to get goals.
“They will be disappointed they haven’t been able to get a striker in. I know they’ve had their name down for three or four and it’s just not come off.

“The wage structure or transfer budget might not have stretched to those numbers. Maybe that’s the reason.
“It will be interesting to see how they cope without a main striker. There isn’t anyone able to step in so you can’t see where they are gonna get the goals.“
