‘What is this madness?’ – Arsenal fans dumbfounded by what Unai Emery did vs Nottingham Forest

Arsenal supporters had clearly not forgotten Unai Emery’s antics as Aston Villa returned to winning ways against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Villa were thrashed 4-1 by Mikel Arteta’s side on Tuesday, 30 December, in a top-of-the-table Premier League clash, with the Gunners extending their lead in the race for the title.

However, the Villans were able to forget that result against Sean Dyche‘s Forest, picking up a 3-1 win following goals from Ollie Watkins and John McGinn, with only Morgan Gibbs-White answering back.

Despite Arsenal‘s win over Villa being over four days ago, fans refused to ignore the moment Emery walked down the tunnel instead of shaking Arteta’s hand, especially after his actions at Villa Park.

Unai Emery waits around to shake hands with Sean Dyche

As the full-time whistle sounded, supporters watched on as the manager waited for Dyche to walk over so that the two could shake hands, and to say the least, Arsenal supporters were beside themselves with anger.

One supporter labelled him a “fickle, fickle guy,” while another was frustrated enough to call him a “loser”. It is safe to say that the Gunners are still frustrated by the manager’s actions at the Emirates.

Fans were waiting in anticipation of the full-time whistle going, predicting that the “cold weather” excuse was nothing more than that, and that is exactly what happened at Villa Park.

Aston Villa boss clearly has respect for Dyche

Arsenal fans were fuming with a lack of respect being shown to their manager last time out, but those same actions were nowhere to be seen at Villa Park.

Speaking ahead of the game, Emery made his feelings clear about the man in the Forest dugout, saying: “Sean Dyche is a coach with a lot of experience. My respect is massive.

“He got with Burnley, playing in the Premier League, getting the sixth position and playing in Europe as well. They have very good players, they have a very good coach, they have experience, they need points, and tomorrow will be very, very difficult for us to beat them.”

Of course, the Villans found it rather easy to break down their opponents on the day, but nonetheless, that respect was evident at full-time, when the two embraced on the touchline.

Arsenal fans are obviously not going to let it go anytime soon, and they might have more fury for the Villa manager should the Gunners get beaten to the Premier League title.
