What it will take for Nottingham Forest to hire Marco Silva as new manager: Wages, compensation and more
Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis will have to pay Marco Silva more than Sean Dyche if he wishes to make him the club’s next manager soon.
Forest‘s relegation fears were compounded on Friday night as they suffered a 3-1 defeat to Leeds United at Elland Road.
Goals from Jayden Bogle, Noah Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin saw the Whites take an unassailable lead before new signing Lorenzo Lucca scored a late consolation.
Forest fans want Dyche sacked as they face a relegation battle for the rest of the campaign, with Marinakis known to be a keen admirer of Silva, who could replace him at the City Ground helm.
Silva has led Fulham to three consecutive mid-table finishes in the Premier League, and Football Insider have looked at what it would cost to prise him from Craven Cottage.

Forest would have to pay Silva over £4million each year
Fulham’s chiefs recently offered Silva a new contract to reward him for the stellar job he has done over the last few years, but he is yet to pen fresh terms with the club.
Silva’s current deal is believed to include a release clause of around £15m [iNews], and so the Reds would have to pay a huge fee if they wanted to appoint him as Dyche’s successor right now.
According to the latest reports, the Portuguese boss earns around £4m in wages each year in charge of Fulham, so Marinakis would at least have to match that figure to lure him to the East Midlands.

Dyche is currently believed to be earning around £3.9 m per year in charge of Forest, so appointing Silva would represent a clear increase in wages, while it is unclear how much compensation would be owed to Fulham on top of his release clause.
What has Silva said about Marinakis after their previous work together
Silva managed Greek side Olympiacos during the 2015-16 campaign while Marinakis was their owner, and he led the club to a Super League title before moving on to Hull City.
Football Insider revealed last October that Silva was in the frame to be Forest’s next boss due to their pre-existing relationship, but Dyche won the battle to succeed Ange Postecoglou.

The 48-year-old spoke highly of Marinakis last year when quizzed about their time working together, saying: “We have an excellent relationship, and at the time, I explained to him what was happening and made the decision to leave on my own, without receiving a single penny from my last day of work.
“Marinakis, he wasn’t satisfied, but he understood why the situation was happening. We are close and he is a person I highly regard.”
The pair could soon be reunited at the City Ground if Dyche is sacked, with Forest needing to improve their form as soon as possible if he wants to stay in a job much longer.
