‘What I’ve heard about Daniel Munoz is ridiculous’ – Clinton Morrison

Daniel Munoz scored as Crystal Palace beat Burnley to return to winning ways in the Premier League on Wednesday.

With the goal yet another reminder of his importance, Crystal Palace will hold out for a significant fee for Munoz if he is targeted in upcoming windows.

The right-back arrived from Genk in 2024 and has enjoyed a stunning impact for Oliver Glasner‘s side, helping the Eagles to win the FA Cup last season.

Munoz is among Manchester United’s targets for a January move, however, which could see Palace faced with a tough situation.

Daniel Munoz is ‘one of the best’

It was Munoz making exactly the type of run Palace fans have come to expect from the Colombia international, which led to his goal.

Floating on the edge of the penalty area, the right-back raced in behind the Burnley back-line to meet Marc Guehi‘s beautifully-weighted cross with a deft header.

The 29-year-old is so often the difference maker going forward for the Eagles, but it was his defensive security which helped Palace secure the three points, too.

It will be Munoz’s dashing run to the back post, which would have caught the eye; however, with the right-back displaying another example of Glasner’s fluid system in motion.

Speaking live on Sky Sports News, Clinton Morrison waxed lyrical about the defender. “It’s a brilliant header from Munoz,” the former Palace forward said.

“Marc Guehi steps in and you know he’s got that delivery and quality, and once he plays it into that back post, Munoz is one of the best right-wing-backs in the Premier League at scoring goals.

“His energy – he’s not tired, because I heard he’s got ridiculous energy – he’s up and down non-stop.”

Marc Guehi proves Oliver Glasner right yet again

It was well reported on transfer deadline day that Glasner would have walked away from Palace, had Guehi’s move to Liverpool been sanctioned.

The move had reportedly been so close that the defender had already been pictured in training gear for the Reds.

The 25-year-old quickly shrugged off the disappointment, however, and has continued to prove that Glasner was right to make such a significant effort to keep his defender at Selhurst Park.

Guehi’s perfect cross to Munoz against Burnley capped off what was a perfect defensive job from the England international, who could well look beyond Liverpool next summer.
