Having been part of the La Masia, the left-back revelled in the opportunity to torment his former club after they decided not to back his development in Catalunya.
The number three was tasked with taking care of the tricky Lamine Yamal, who had little joy down the right-hand side with the defender hounding him all game long.
Defensively, Cucurella was marvellous, winning seven ground duels and triumphing in three of his five tackles.

Similarly, he racked up two interceptions and two clearances, as well as making four recoveries.
Crucially, the Spain international provided a pivotal key pass to tee up Neto for his shot on goal, which eventually culminated in a Jules Kounde own goal.
Since his move from Brighton back in August 2022, the 27-year-old has slowly become a fan favourite at Stamford Bridge and arguably pushing his way into the conversation as the best left-back in the world.
Blues supporters took to social media to vocalise their love for the ex-Getafe man, with one fan saying: “Marc Cucurella, where do you want your statue son?” with another adding: “Marc Cucurella has been immense for a long time, but tonight was arguably his best performance in a Chelsea shirt. He is simply untouchable at this point.”
