William Saliba cited by expert as Arsenal close in on ‘exciting’ first summer signing
Kevin Campbell is “excited” by the prospect of Arsenal signing Sao Paulo winger Marquinhos this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gunners and Everton striker said he expects the club to adopt a William Saliba-style approach with the 19-year-old.
According to Sky Sports (20 May), Arsenal are in advanced negotiations with Sao Paulo over a move for their teenage sensation Marquinhos.

The winger is said to have been in London to finalise a move to the Emirates this week.
Mikel Arteta refused to be drawn on whether his side were close to a deal when quizzed in his press conference and said “when there is a player to announce we’ll be dealing with that.”
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his thoughts on the potential incoming signing, Campbell said: “It is exciting.
“I think he is one who the club will probably sign and then loan out though. It will be a bit like what they did with Saliba.
“You can see how that loan moan has benefited him [Saliba]. Now he is coming back and hopefully he will be like a new signing.
“I expect the club to take a similar approach with Marquinhos is the deal gets over the line.”

Marquinhos is a versatile forward who can play on the left, right or down the middle.
He has contributed four goals and three assists in 40 appearances for Sao Paulo.
