William Saliba could quit Arsenal and sign ‘£250,000-a-week’ deal with giants – Agbonlahor
Gabby Agbonlahor has urged Arsenal to “cough up” or risk losing star defender William Saliba this summer.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested potential suitors Paris Saint-Germain could swoop in with a “£250,000-a-week” offer – claiming it could be a “dream move” for the Frenchman.
According to The Sun (30 May), Arsenal are struggling to agree a new contract with Saliba amid interest from PSG.
The report claims the Gunners are ready to triple the defender’s current £40,000-a-week deal – which expires in just over 12 months’ time.
Saliba made 33 appearances across all competitions but could only watch on as Arsenal’s title challenge disintegrated without him in the final months of the season following an injury.
The France international impressed in his first full season in English football after three straight seasons out on loan in Ligue 1.
Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “It’s a really difficult contract for Arsenal to agree.
“He was so good this season, and Arsenal were so poor without him – that Saliba can demand silly money.
“He’s on £40,000-a-week. Even if you triple that, PSG might offer him £250,000-a-week.
“I’m sure other clubs in Europe will be looking at him, as well.
“He’s a real asset at 22 years old.

“Arsenal are going to have to cough up.
“He’s a French centre-back, PSG are interested – it could be that dream move. Arsenal have got to be careful.”
