Wolves ace Nelson Semedo sends ‘slap’ message to Man United star Bruno Fernandes
Wolves right-back Nelson Semedo has responded to Man United captain Bruno Fernandes following his latest social media message.
The 30-year-old has been one of the few bright sparks in what has otherwise been another frustrating season for the Red Devils at times.
That was again the case on Sunday (9 March) when Fernandes produced a stunning free-kick to put Man United 1-0 up against Arsenal at Old Trafford.
Although there were questions about how far back referee Anthony Taylor had positioned the Arsenal wall, there is no denying that the midfielder’s strike still contained plenty of quality.
As a result, Fernandes has understandably been keen to enjoy the sensation of that strike, prompting a response from others in the Premier League.

Nelson Semedo hails Bruno Fernandes over goal vs Arsenal
Taking to his Instagram page on Monday evening (10 March), Fernandes posted a series of images of his free-kick and subsequent celebrations.
The Man United captain then captioned that post with a simple emoji of a target being hit, an accurate summation of his set-piece effort against the Gunners.
Earlier in the season, Fernandes congratulated Semedo on social media after he was named Wolves captain.
Here, his fellow Portugal international would return the favour, with the Wolves man commenting on the post in their native language, writing: “Aquela chapada”.
When translated into English, that is a message that simply reads, “that slap”, which certainly suggests Semedo was impressed with the quality of the strike from his fellow countryman.

Football Insider Verdict
Despite going ahead here, Ruben Amorim’s side again missed out on victory after Declan Rice equalised for Arsenal in the second half.
Admittedly, things may have played out differently had Mikel Merino been sent off for a stamp on Alejandro Garnacho ten minutes after half time.
Even so, this was yet another game where Man United had to rely on a moment of brilliance from Fernandes to get them some sort of result.
Doing that is not sustainable, but right now it almost feels as though the Portugal international is the only one who can come up with the goods as striker Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee struggle for goals.
So for now, Man United may have to hope that Fernandes can continue to make those impacts for some time to come if they are to have a chance of picking up positive results going forward.
