Wolves are ‘expecting bids for multiple players’ after West Ham news
Wolves are bracing to receive offers for a number of their key players ahead of the January transfer window as a result of their “inevitable” relegation.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Rob Edwards may be forced to lose some of his best players.
This comes after Football Insider exclusively revealed that Aston Villa want to sign David Moller Wolfe, with Brighton also keeping tabs on his situation.
Wolfe is one of a number of highly-regarded players at Molineux despite their miserable Premier League season so far, who could be tempted to make a move.
Wolves have picked up just two points after 17 league games, and clubs will try to take advantage either in the January window or if they are eventually relegated.

Wolves braced for major offers in January
Brown told Football Insider in October that Wolves fear losing their best players as a result of what has been a dismal season amid growing interest.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted that while Wolves are reluctant to lose players, they want to maximise their values.
“Wolves are expecting bids for their major players,” he told Football Insider.
“Let’s be honest, it looks like they will be relegated and it would take a miracle for them to stay up, so there is the view that they could sell in January to get the most money.
“That could mean clubs make moves for these players when the window opens, maybe to get ahead of any other interest in them.
“I think Wolves will be reluctant to do that because if they are going to stay up they’ll need to keep all of their best players to make sure of it.
“If or when they go down, teams always want to keep hold of their best players, but it’s rarely possible because of the financial side of things.
“Plus, the players won’t want to stick around in the Championship if they know they’ve got options at a higher level and in the Premier League.
“So if they go down, that will be the case, and until then it’s uncertain about what will happen in January and if teams will look to take advantage, but they’ll be prepared for that.”
West Ham dealt blow in Jorgen Strand Larsen race
Brown told Football Insider that West Ham could miss out on signing Strand Larsen as a result of their limited budget in the mid-season transfer window.
This comes after Football Insider exclusively revealed on 7 December that West Ham will only spend £20million on a new forward in January.
Wolves are set to demand well over that fee for Strand Larsen, having turned down a £55million offer from Newcastle in the summer window’s closing stages.

Meanwhile, despite a growing expectation that they will be relegated, Wolves are reluctant to lose their most important players and further dent their chances of survival.
Brown told Football Insider last month that Strand Larsen is interested in leaving Wolves in January after being unsettled by the speculation during the summer.
