Wolves ‘make David Moller Wolfe exit decision’ after Aston Villa reveal

Wolves are bracing for offers for David Moller Wolfe ahead of the January transfer window amid growing interest from Aston Villa and Brighton.

That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that a number of clubs are keeping tabs on the 23-year-old.

This comes after Football Insider exclusively revealed that Aston Villa want to sign Wolfe, with Brighton also keeping tabs on his situation.

Wolfe is one of a number of highly-regarded players at Molineux despite their miserable Premier League season so far, who could be tempted to make a move.

Wolves have picked up just two points after 18 league games, and clubs will try to take advantage either in the January window or if they are eventually relegated.

Brown told Football Insider on 25 December that Wolves are expecting offers for their star players in the January transfer window, of which Wolfe is one.

The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted that Premier League clubs have taken note of the left-back’s performances this season.

Wolves are expecting bids for their major players,” he told Football Insider.

“Let’s be honest, it looks like they will be relegated and it would take a miracle for them to stay up, so there is the view that they could sell in January to get the most money.

“Obviously nobody wants to lose their best players, but they might have to accept a big offer if it comes.

“When there’s a player like that [Wolfe], who is performing above the level his team has been at, a lot of clubs are going to take notice of it.

“There isn’t an abundance of available players in his position, so if he becomes available because of their situation, these clubs should be all over it.

“You mentioned Aston Villa and Brighton, but there are a lot of clubs who will be looking at him, probably every team in the league will be aware of him.

“Wolves look like they will go down, so these clubs will be watching to see if there are any standout performers who will be good enough to improve their sides.

Could Jorgen Strand Larsen be next to leave Wolves?

Wolfe is not the only star player attracting interest at Molineux, with speculation surrounding Jorgen Strand Larsen’s future now continuing to grow.

Brown told Football Insider last month that Strand Larsen is interested in leaving Wolves in January after being unsettled by the speculation during the summer.

The likes of Crystal Palace and Everton have been linked with moves for the Denmark international, while West Ham also hope to secure his signature.

However, Brown told Football Insider that West Ham could miss out on signing Strand Larsen as a result of their limited budget in the mid-season transfer window.

This comes after Football Insider exclusively revealed on 7 December that West Ham will only spend £20million on a new forward in January.
