Wolves midfielder sends message as Nottingham Forest agree transfer

Nottingham Forest have confirmed the departure of Arnaud Kalimuendo, who joined the East Midlands side only in the summer.

The striker joined Forest from Rennes for £26million, but quickly struggled to adapt to the Premier League.

To date, he has only netted twice in 15 appearances, with zero coming in the English top-flight.

This has seen multiple Nottingham Forest fans criticise Kalimuendo, with the 23-year-old appearing to be a flop.

Now, Forest have confirmed that Kalimuendo has joined Frankfurt on loan until the end of the season, with Wolves star Jean-Ricner Bellegarde reacting to the news.

Frankfurt confirm loan signing of Arnaud Kalimuendo

Despite Nottingham Forest being amid a relegation battle, Sean Dyche is seemingly happy to get rid of some of his players.

Since the appointment of the former Everton manager, Kalimuendo rarely, if ever, got minutes in the Premier League, with his appearances limited to the Europa League.

Therefore, many Forest fans were annoyed to see Kalimuendo depart, believing he deserved a chance.

Nevertheless, the striker will now be hoping to get his season back on track at Frankfurt.

Upon moving to the German club, Kalimuendo took to Instagram on 8 January to announce his move.

Plenty of people were quick to react to this, including Bellegarde, who put a fire and a heart emoji.

Did Kalimuendo deserve a chance at Nottingham Forest?

According to Fotmob on 8 January, Kalimuendo had plenty of solid stats when he played in the Europa League.

The striker was netting 0.69 goals per match from just 2.43 shots, and was also good at winning fouls, at 2.43 per 90 minutes.

However, there were plenty of qualities that were simply not good enough, with Kalimuendo only having a 78 per cent pass completion and the striker only managing 28.49 touches per game.

Therefore, Dyche may have been right to move the striker on in the hope that he can find form elsewhere.

Hopefully, the move works out for all parties and does not come back to haunt Forest in May.
