Wolves news: Agbonlahor issues top-four prediction amid ‘big’ verdict

Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Wolves can finish in the top-four this season.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Wolves’ impressive defence will have a “big” role to play if they want to sustain their European charge.

Bruno Lage‘s side are currently in seventh, just six points behind Man United who occupy the final Champions League place.

Wolves

However, they have two games in hand over United and are on a run of just one defeat in their last seven Premier League games.

The Wanderers also have the second-best defensive record in the division behind Man City with just 17 goals conceded in 23 games this term.

Asked for his verdict on where Wolves will finish this season, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “Top-six, definitely.

“Top-four, I know it’s going to be tough for them but they look like a very organised team. They don’t concede many goals which is big.

“So I wouldn’t rule anything out. They’ve got 16 games left and anything can happen. You can’t ignore Wolves in the race for the top-six and the top-four.

“I think of West Ham, Man United, Spurs and Arsenal, one of them will finish eighth and Wolves will definitely finish higher than eighth.”

Wolves

Wolves are next in action on Sunday (20 February) when Brendan Rodgers’ struggling Leicester City side visit Molineux.

After that, they have away games with fellow top-four rivals Arsenal and West Ham to finish February.
