Wolves news: Pedro Neto has already forced teammate out after Bruno Lage reveal in last 48 hours – pundit
Pedro Neto could fire Wolves to a top-four finish, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Neto is “one of the best wingers in the league” and was the reason Wolves let Adama Traore join Barcelona in January.
Neto made his long-awaited return from injury as a substitute as Bruno Lage’s side beat Leicester City on Sunday (20 February).
It was the 21-year-old’s first appearance since he suffered a serious knee injury just over 10 months ago.
As quoted by Birmingham Live on Sunday (20 February), Lage praised the speed Neto offered his side and compared him to Traore.
And Agbonlahor claimed Neto’s imminent return was the reason the Spain international was allowed to rejoin his former club.
He told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “Pedro Neto coming back is the reason they let Adama Traore go. They would have known he’s the better option over Traore.
“For me, he’s one of the best wingers in the league. I really, really like him.
“He’s going to set them up nicely now for the race in the top-six.
“Underestimate Wolves at your own peril. They’ve got that solid defensive set-up and could easily finish fourth.”

Neto scored five times and provided six assists in 31 Premier League games last term before his season was ended prematurely due to injury.
Wolves lost four of the seven games he missed at the end of the season and found the net just five times without him.
