Finance guru salutes ‘innovative’ Wolves as new shirt sponsor deal agreed

Wolves deserve credit for striking an “innovative” front-of-shirt deal for their academy side.

That is the view of finance expert Doctor Dan Plumley, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Wolves’ partnership with NXGN.

The deal, which was announced on Thursday (27 October), will see NXGN’s branding displayed on the shirts of Wolves’ six academy teams as well as at their playing facilities and online platforms.

NCGN is a youth football media brand that covers “the next generation of youth culture and the new young talent influencing football”.

The company will also work with Wolves to produce tailored content featuring academy players.

Plumley saluted the Molineux side for their business smarts in signing with NXGN.

A lot of the narrative in sponsorshp talks about how suitable the fit is,” the Sheffield Hallam University expert told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.

That’s to do with the entity being sponsored and the company doing the sponsoring. There is a lot of synergy with this one.

There’s a youth football media brand and they are tying that to the academy. The package element of the deal looks great and it just looks like a good fit.

Wolves

You’d expect to see lots of content here. That will give Wolves some leverage because that team doesn’t get the same exposure as the main team. This is one way to improve that.

It’s a really nice and innovative tie-up.
