‘Wolves’ terrible situation is about to get worse’ as football expert drops transfer verdict

Rob Edwards already has a major challenge on his hands, and Wolves’ chances of securing Premier League safety are about to be slashed.

Wolves remain bottom of the Premier League table, 14 points adrift of safety, with upcoming clashes against Newcastle United, Man City, and Bournemouth.

Despite such a woeful campaign at Molineux Stadium, their players continue to be linked with moves away, such as Marshall Munetsi, as well as a newly emerging star, Mateus Mane.

Football Insider understands that Wolves want to build a team around Mane amid interest from Man United, and the concerns do not stop there for Edwards and his staff.

Rob Edwards is in for a shock at Wolves

Jorgen Strand Larsen is expected to leave Wolves, but with just one Premier League goal to his name, there are other departures which would be bigger issues for the Old Gold.

Looking at the entire situation this season, Dougie Critchley, a football expert, has raised some major concerns this month, though only Ki-Jana Hoever is the noticeable exit so far.

Taking to X (16 January), Critchley wrote: Joao Gomes being chased by Atletico Madrid and Napoli… [Emmanuel] Agbadou by Besiktas… [Marshall] Munetsi has joined Paris FC…

“A terrible situation for Wolves could be about to get worse!”

What has the Wolves boss said about transfers at Molineux Stadium?

Edwards is not keeping anything from the supporters, being blatantly honest about some potential outgoings from Molineux before the transfer window slams shut.

In a press conference, he said, “If it’s right for the football club, we will see,” and while talking about Strand Larsen, he added that there is “nothing to talk about”.

It does appear, however, that Munetsi is closing in on a deal with Paris FC, and he would be a huge miss, especially given how much support the club have given him since his injury last month.

Edwards is clearly pushing to keep the Old Gold in the Premier League, however impossible that challenge appears from the outside, and he has made strides already.

Wolves have not lost any of their last four games across all competitions, including putting six goals past Shrewsbury in the FA Cup, and drawing against Man United and Everton.

There is still plenty of work to do, especially in the transfer market, but survival is not yet totally out of the question, as Edwards keeps trying to turn the tide.
