Wolves transfer news: Conor Coady undergoes Leicester City medical as three-year deal agreed – sources

Conor Coady is undergoing a Leicester City medical on Thursday after they had a £7.5million bid accepted by Wolves, sources have told Football Insider.

The defender has agreed the terms of a three-year contract with the Championship club.
Leicester have agreed to pay Wolves £7.5m with a further £1m if promoted for the 30-year-old.

Coady spent last season on loan at Everton, who decided against taking up their £4.5m option to sign him outright after beating the Foxes to Premier League survival.

Coady, who earns a reported wage of £55,000-a-week at Wolves, made 25 appearances across all competitions on loan at Everton in the 2022-23 campaign – notching two goals and one assist.

He started the 2022-23 campaign as a mainstay in Frank Lampard’s Everton side but was dropped to the bench soon after Sean Dyche’s arrival in January.

The Foxes’ interest comes after the Merseysiders confirmed they have chosen not to activate their reported £4.5million option to sign the 30-year-old permanently.

Leicester were not the only club in for his signature, as Football Insider exclusively revealed on Friday (2 June) that Sheffield United were considering a summer swoop for the Wolves defender.

The England international had a loan spell with the Blades in the 2013-14 season – making 50 appearances across all competitions and notching six goals.

However, Leicester is set to be the England international’s new club as the Foxes look for immediate promotion back to the Premier League after their disappointing relegation in the previous campaign.
