Jack Wilshere has already told Wolves why Amario Cozier-Duberry should be priority signing
Wolverhampton Wanderers have been linked with Brighton and Hove Albion starlet Amario Cozier-Duberry going into the final weeks of the transfer window.
The Old Gold side are reportedly exploring a move for the 21-year-old winger.
Other targets are also being considered out wide, with Wolves looking to strengthen this area before the transfer window slams shut.
The Brighton youngster spent last season out on loan at Bolton Wanderers, where he helped the club win promotion to the Championship.
Overall, he netted eight times and picked up 10 assists in League One, which has seen him linked to clubs such as Rangers in recent weeks.
Previously, Cozier-Duberry came through Arsenal’s academy, which saw him work with now Luton Town boss Jack Wilshere, who was extremely complimentary of the winger and even compared him to Bukayo Saka.
Jack Wilshere: Amario Cozier-Duberry reminds me of Bukayo Saka
Wolves’ 2-2 draw to Blackburn Rovers made it clear that mass additions were needed before the transfer window ends.
While the backline was extremely shaky at Molineux, another key issue was the frontline, with the hosts creating little to nothing against one of the relegation favourites.
As a result, there was no doubt that the fanbase was excited when Liam Keen reported on Tuesday that Cozier-Duberry was a target before the transfer window closes.
The 21-year-old is someone who could provide a big of attacking edge to Wolves’ front line, and this is proven in Wilshere’s previous assessment of the attacker.
He told The Athletic on 4 April 2023: “His super-strengths are his ball-carrying and ability to take people on. He’s an exciting footballer, but (has) loads to learn.
“Amario is very exciting and Mikel likes him,” Wilshere adds. “He reminds me of Bukayo Saka, plays in the same position as him, needs to get better with his decision-making like Bukayo did, but he’s definitely exciting.
“In some moments he’s unplayable. You give him the ball and he can make things happen. You can set up a team and have a game plan, but when you’ve got individuals like that you’ve got a chance.”
This is exactly what Wolves need, someone who is ready to take on a man and make something happen.
Hopefully, the Old Gold side can now get the signing over the line before they lose out.
Who else are Wolves linked with this summer?
Reports have also stated that Wolves are looking to sign Jordan James this summer.
The Old Gold side are reportedly advancing their interest in the Rennes midfielder as they look to secure the signing before the end of the transfer window.
The Wales international had an excellent individual campaign while on loan at Leicester City last season and won the Young Championship Player of the Season award.
However, with multiple other second-tier sides also chasing James, it remains to be seen if Wolves can get the deal over the line.
