Sources: Leeds make Santiago Bueno transfer decision

Leeds United are unlikely to rekindle their interest in Wolverhampton Wanderers star Santiago Bueno before the transfer window closes, sources have told Football Insider.

The 27-year-old has recently been linked with a move away from Molineux, with reports indicating that he is keen on a return to the Premier League.

Daniel Farke’s side were heavily linked with the centre-back at the start of the summer after Wolves’ relegation to the Championship.

However, Leeds’ current focus is on Nico Elvedi, who is considered to be the club’s “top target”.

The Borussia Monchengladbach defender has reportedly already agreed personal terms with the West Yorkshire club ahead of a potential move.

While Bueno is yet to feature for Wolves since the 2026 World Cup, the defender is no doubt one of the club’s best players.
