‘Worth £30m’, ‘Crazy’ – Celtic fans lose their minds over outcast international display

Celtic fans have lost their minds over the performance of Cristian Gamboa in an international friendly against Scotland on Friday night.

Gamboa, 28, started at right-back for the Central American nation as they won 1-0 against Alex McLeish’s men in his first game in charge.

The Hoops right-back last 75 minutes before he was taken off and replaced by Ian Smith and the Parkhead faithful now believe that Brendan Rodgers needs to give him more of a chance.

The former West Brom player has made just three appearances in all competitions this season and had to wait four months between his howler against Bayern Munich in the Champions League before playing in the Scottish Premiership against St Johnstone in February.

With Mikael Lustig’s form as poor as it is and Anthony Ralton being loaned out to Dundee United, many believe that the Costa Rican outcast should be getting more game-time.

One fan even claimed that he is “worth £30million”.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

After being signed by Rodgers from West Brom in 2016, Gamboa has made just 24 appearances in all competitions for Celtic.

He missed the early Champions League qualifiers last summer in order to play for his nation, and it seems that some fans believe that is why Rodgers is constantly overlooking him.

In other Celtic news, Henrik Larsson has been left drooling over this Bhoys mainstay.
