Yaya Toure: Man City legend in line for ‘official’ Tottenham role after what insider spotted at Hotspur Way
Tottenham could announce an official role for Yaya Toure “soon” after he was spotted in at a recent Under 23s game.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
On 1 December, Sky Sports reported Toure, 38, was working alongside Spurs academy coaches Dean Rastrick and Chris Powell on an informal basis to gain experience.

Wenham spotted Toure watching Tottenham’s Under 23s against Crystal Palace Under 23s last Monday (7 February) decked out in full Tottenham gear.
He claims the Man City legend was only supposed to be at the club for two weeks, leading him to think an official role could be forthcoming.
“I was at the Tottenham Under 23s game against Crystal Palace at Hotspur Way last week,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“There were quite a few noteworthy people there actually. I spotted Yaya Toure.
“He’s still here, in a full training kit as well. There has been no official announcement from the club regarding any position for him.
“He’s obviously decided to stay on at the club after his two-week trial period.
“It was good to see him speaking to some of the players before and after the game.
“We’ll have to keep an eye out to see if the club announces an official role for him soon.”

On 1 December, the Evening Standard claimed Toure is “open” to accepting a formal role at Spurs if the opportunity arises.
The midfielder won three Premier League titles during his time with Man City.
