Yves Bissouma: Tottenham insider tells club to sign Brighton star after ‘unbelievable’ outing

Tottenham should make Brighton star Yves Bissouma a transfer target after impressing during the recent FA Cup clash between the sides.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Bissouma, 25, started as Brighton were beaten 3-1 by Tottenham on Saturday (5 February).

The midfielder was heavily linked with a move away from the south coast during the January transfer window.

The Express & Star reported earlier on 2 February that Aston Villa are set to renew their interest in Bissouma in the summer window and that Brighton value him at £50million.

However, Wenham wants Tottenham to make a move after his “unbelievable” performance at the weekend.

“Bissouma was fantastic for Brighton on Saturday,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“You hear a lot about players and sometimes you don’t get to watch them properly until you see them against your club.

“I thought he was unbelievable against us. We had three or four chances to kill the game that he scuppered.

“He pretty much single-handedly kept Brighton in the game until we got that third goal and killed it.

“He looked like a top-of-the-table player. I hope Tottenham have him on a shortlist as a player we can target in the summer.

“I saw him linked with plenty of clubs in the January window so maybe he is looking to move.”

Bissouma will only have one year left on his Brighton deal at the end of the season.

He has made 14 Premier League appearances this season.
