Zouma could hand West Ham ‘massive boost’ after confirmed news – pundit

Paul Robinson has heaped praise on the “brilliant” Kurt Zouma after David Moyes provided a promising injury update on the West Ham defender.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Leeds United goalkeeper claimed it would be “a massive boost” if Zouma, 27, returned ahead of schedule.

Zouma has been sidelined since 4 December after suffering a hamstring injury in the 3-2 win over Chelsea.

West Ham

The Hammers have kept just once clean sheet since – a goalless draw at the Premier League’s second lowest scorers Burnley.

As quoted by Football.London last Saturday, (1 January), Moyes revealed Zouma could return “quite quickly” from injury.

Moyes added that his progress will have a big say on West Ham’s transfer dealings this month.

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the news, Robinson said: “They only have two centre-halves fit and have been shipping goals for fun.

“It would be a massive boost for them if Zouma returns ahead of schedule.

“David Moyes signed him to be the main man in that area of the pitch. His form in the earlier part of the season was brilliant.

“He is the best centre-half they have so to have him come back would be a massive boost.”

Zouma left Chelsea and put pen to paper on a four-year contract at the London Stadium in August.

The centre-half has made 12 appearances across all competitions for the Hammers.
