Nemanja Matic 8 – The best United player on the night and Antonio Conte will have been watching this game through his hands. A great buy, will be huge this season.
Ander Herrera 6 (replaced by Marouane Fellaini, 56 mins) – Kept the game within reach for United, along with Matic in the middle. Was furious with Romelu Lukaku after the striker came from an offside position to take the ball instead of leaving it to the midfielder.
Paul Pogba 4 – He might have been told that United want more from him in attack this year but the 24-year-old star’s decision making was really poor tonight. A terrible game from a very expensive player.
