Gerrard must snap up Liverpool flyer to kickstart Rangers revolution
COMMENT
One of the worst kept secrets in Scottish football is finally out, as Steven Gerrard has joined Rangers to become their new manager on a four-year deal.
It seems likely that Gerrard will look to his former club Liverpool to make some signings in the summer, and one player he should be looking at is winger Sheyi Ojo.
The 20-year-old winger has been on-loan at Fulham this season, and has been a key part of the side currently third in the Championship, playing 24 matches.
The rapid flyer has featured for most of the season, but has lost his place in the team in recent weeks, and look set to return to Anfield in the summer.
When he returns to Anfield Gerrard should get on the phone to Jurgen Klopp and arrange for the player to make the move to Ibrox.
He can play on both wings, which is always a good quality to have in a winger, but particularly on the right-wing, which would put him in competition with Josh Windass, who despite scoring plenty of goals this season doesn’t work hard enough for the team at times, a quality which would not endear him to Gerrard.
As he is out of contract at the end of the season, he could be bought on a free transfer, and the deal seems to be too good to miss out on, for both the player and for Gerrard, who should make the winger one of the first signings of his Ibrox Park revolution.
