Sources: Major update on West Ham and £20m Jack Clarke deal
Interested clubs West Ham and Brentford are unlikely to meet Jack Clarke’s £20million valuation in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
The 23-year-old has been in outstanding form for Sunderland so far in the 2023-24 campaign.
West Ham and Brentford are the latest clubs to join the race for his signature this month – and Burnley were also keen on a deal in the last summer window.

However, it is believed the Black Cats will need a £20million fee to part with the ex-Tottenham star this month.
A well-placed source told Football Insider that no club will likely meet the England Under-20 international’s valuation in January.
Sunderland are in the hunt for a play-off place in the 2023-24 campaign – but Clarke‘s goals are crucial to Michael Beale’s side potentially winning the fight for promotion.
He has notched 12 goals and two assists in 26 second-tier appearances this term with the Black Cats sitting sixth in the table.
Clarke, who joined the Wearside club on a permanent deal in 2022, is under contract at the Stadium of Light until June 2026.
He also spent the second half of the 2021-22 campaign on loan at Sunderland and has now notched 24 goals and 20 assists in 98 games across all competitions for the club.

West Ham, who have several key injuries in attack, sit sixth in the Premier League – while London rivals Brentford sit 16th in the table.
Sunderland are sixth in the Championship and are targeting a second consecutive top-six finish.
