‘A disgrace’, ‘Can’t stomach it’ – Rangers fans fume after shock sighting of outcast at Celtic
Rangers outcast Michael O’Halloran has barely been seen at Ibrox over the last year – but his shock appearance at Saturday’s Scottish Cup final between Celtic and Motherwell at Hampden has sent Gers fans into meltdown.
A picture posted by a Rangers fan account, BMC Rangers Rants, on Twitter appears to show the Gers striker at the national stadium as Brendan Rodgers’ side sealed a historic double treble with a 2-0 win over Well.
O’Halloran has not been the most popular figure amongst Gers fans – and is known to be a Celtic supporter – but the apparent sighting of him at Hampden will not have done anything to endear him to the Ibrox support, as evidenced by the reaction on social media.
Here are some of their comments on Twitter:
The striker has been on borrowed time at Ibrox after a no-show for an Under-20’s game last year just after Pedro Caixinha had been appointed as manager.
The striker was frozen out before being shipped off on loan to St. Johnstone but returned to Ibrox in January after his loan came to an end.
O’Halloran is unlikely to be at Ibrox much longer with new manager Steven Gerrard likely to spark a massive turnover of players as he takes the reins at Ibrox next month.
The 27-year-old made one appearance for the Gers in the season just ended, coming off the bench in a win over Hearts in April.
In other Rangers transfer news, the club are in hot pursuit of a 6’4″ colossus who could be signing of the season.
