‘A lot to say when he’s back-channelling’ – Simon Jordan reacts after Alexander Isak’s agent replies to Jim White
Simon Jordan has laid into Alexander Isak’s agent after he replied to Jim White following the Swede’s groundbreaking Newcastle statement.
After being nominated for the PFA Premier League 2024-25 team of the season, Isak did not make an appearance due to the ongoing rumours of an exit to Liverpool.
Despite his absence, Isak dropped a bombshell statement providing a major update and insight into his Newcastle situation with a matter of weeks left of the summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old has all the attention of the footballing world with former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan targeting the striker’s agent Vlado Lemic.

Simon Jordan has some strong words to say on Alexander Isak’s ‘delightful’ agent
Speaking on talkSPORT (20 August) the day after the Isak revelation, host Jim White opened the conversation by Lemic “apologising” with “nothing to say” on the current situation.
Co-presenter Jordan then elaborated on his thoughts on the agents involvement in the transfer saga, saying: “It’s very clear Newcastle have established a position.
“I mean, Isak’s interpretation of conversations, I don’t doubt that Isak has verbalised with his delightful agent, who seems to have lots to say when he’s back-channeling but not anything to say directly when he might be held accountable for what comes out of his trap.
“He’s [Isak] had lots to say about what Newcastle should [do] – I don’t recall Newcastle saying very much. So, I don’t quite understand what Alexander Isak is referring to in terms of people filling the vacuum.
“It’s being filled by people like the newspapers being given stories, I suspect, by his agent.
“So, I suspect that the reality of what’s being said in terms of ‘I’ve [Isak] not had my say’ or ‘I’ve not spoken and other have filled the air’ is nonsense because it’s his people that have been filling the air.”
Liverpool will be eager to capitalise on Alexander Isak developments
Football Insider verdict
The rumblings over the last 24 hours will be music to the ears of the Premier League reigning champions as they look to take advantage of the discontent.
Bids in excess of £100million have been turned down, but the Reds now know for certain the former Borussia Dortmund forward is hellbent on getting out of St James’ Park.
Whilst I agree with most pundits that Newcastle will definitely look to retain the number 14, given they have no striker replacements in motion, Liverpool will almost certainly come back for the Scandinavian at every available opportunity.

If they can finalise the deal for Marc Guehi from Palace, potentially Arne Slot will bide his time and go back in for the 25-year-old in January with the league champions investing all the their time and resources into securing his signature.
The Magpies front man’s price will drop as well, which could see the Toon giving up their main man midway through the season if they cannot get him playing again.
Alternatively, the red half of Merseyside may play the long game and go back in for the Swede next summer with the ball now seemingly more in their court than ever.
