‘A walking mistake’ – Nottingham Forest fans destroy Morato after ‘disgusting’ moment vs Fenerbahce

Morato has infuriated supporters following a key mistake during Nottingham Forest’s Europa League clash with Fenerbahce.

The City Ground was rocking ahead of the round of 32 second leg on Thursday, 26 February, only for the majority of home fans to be totally silenced by Fenerbahce after just 22 minutes.

Many expected a very simple game for Forest, having brought a comfortable 3-0 win back from Turkey, but the second leg was anything but easy following the early opener.

Kerem Akturkoglu fired past Stefan Ortega halfway through the first half, taking advantage of some criminal defending from Murillo and Morato, with the latter taking much of the blame.

The Brazilian allowed Sidiki Cherif to escape down the right flank before the striker blasted the ball across to the eventual goalscorer, with the goal raising questions over the defender’s abilities at this level.

Morato is totally exposed as Nottingham Forest concede early opener

Labelled a “walking mistake” and accused of not being “intelligent enough” for the new manager’s style of play, it is safe to say that supporters have completely given up on Morato.

With the 24-year-old stunting Zach Abbott’s development at the City Ground, one supporter was angry enough to “never want to see Morato play for Forest again”. Ouch.

Very few have been impressed by Morato since his arrival in the summer of 2024, and it will only be a matter of time before Pereira realises just how useless he is in the back line.

Nottingham Forest fans make up their minds on Lorenzo Lucca

The Reds were making plenty of chances, and despite being an experienced striker, Lucca was absolutely nowhere to be seen when these opportunities were fired into the penalty area.

Struggling to get involved, he got himself booked five minutes before half-time, having already made multiple fouls, frustrating the entire fanbase at the City Ground.

With Lucca currently on loan at the Premier League club, a decision will need to be made on his future ahead of the summer, and it appears that supporters have already made up their minds.

Igor Jesus has been far more impressive this season, and if fans had it their way, he would start ahead of Lucca in every single game. By the sounds of it, they would take an injured Chris Wood over Lucca.
