Adam Lallana is desperate to repay the faith shown in him by Liverpool’s top-ranking officials after landing a new long-term contract.
Liverpool confirmed the news on their official website on Wednesday, after the former Southampton playmaker put pen to paper on a renewed deal.
Posting on his personal Instagram account, England international Lallana sent a message to fans stating that he wants to prove his worth “on the pitch” after signing.
“So grateful to everyone who’s helped make Liverpool ‘home’ since I joined,” Lallana said. “Team-mates, manager, staff and of course supporters.
“To be asked to stay longer means everything. Now it’s on me to repay that where it matters most – on the pitch.”

ESPN claim that Lallana has signed a new three-year deal that will begin this summer, keeping him at Anfield until 2020. It is believed he will earn £110,000 a week.
Lallana, 28, has been in wonderful form for the Merseyside giants this term, having a hand in 14 goals during his 27 league and cup appearances.
Scoring seven times against the likes of Leicester, Arsenal and West Ham, Liverpool’s number 20 has also provided an impressive seven assists.
Now, Lallana will be hoping to find the net for a second time against Claudio Ranieri’s Foxes this season on Monday night, as Liverpool face Leicester at the King Power Stadium.
Three points for the attacking midfielder and the rest of his side could see the Reds move up to second, if Man City, Tottenham and Arsenal all drop points over the weekend.
In other Liverpool news, Joel Matip has delivered this verdict on his side’s top-four hopes.
