Adam Lallana urges patience with Tottenham youngster
By Dominic Toner
Liverpool ace Adam Lallana believes that people must be patient with Tottenham youngster Dele Alli.
The 20-year-old has emerged as a crucial player for Spurs and is also being tipped as a future great for England.
Lallana and Alli linked up well on Wednesday night in England’s attack, despite a 1-0 defeat away to Germany in an international friendly.
The pair are expected to be involved at the weekend for the World Cup qualifier against Lithuania at Wembley.
Lallana has hailed the ability of rising star Alli, but feels that people need to give him time to fulfil his potential.
“Dele is a fantastic player,” Lallana said, as quoted by the Daily Mirror. “He is already a magnificent player for England. He is special. I love the way he goes about his business: No fear. He’s brave.
“But still people need to be patient with him. He is still a young boy and performing how he does is way above his years.”
Alli has enjoyed a meteoric rise at Spurs since he joined from MK Dons and has become a regular for club and country in recent years.
The attacking midfielder has become an integral part of Mauricio Pochettino’s side and has helped them up to second in the Premier League table.
He has made 39 appearances for Spurs this season, scoring 17 goals and supplying eight assists.
The playmaker is already regarded as one of the most exciting talents in the Premier League and there is a belief that England national team should be built around him.
However, Liverpool regular Lallana believes that Alli still has plenty of time to develop despite already being a talented player.
