Adama Traore reveals what he thinks of Man United in message after earlier bust-up
Fulham took one step closer to FA Cup success on Sunday (2 March) as they defeated Man United at Old Trafford.
Marco Silva’s side knocked out the Premier League giants via a penalty shootout that provided all the drama for the Theatre of Dreams.
Fulham originally took the lead on the stroke of halftime as Calvin Bassey found the back of the net, but Bruno Fernandes responded with a 71st-minute equaliser.
Ultimately there was nothing to separate the two teams even after extra time, with penalties being the deciding factor as United exited the competition at the earliest stage as the holders since 1996-97.
Fulham have drawn Crystal Palace in the quarter-finals of the competition, with one team set to book a place at Wembley for the semi-finals.
However, it is a game against Brighton on Saturday (8 March) that is up next for Silva’s men as the attention returns to the Premier League.

Adama Traore got one over on Man United
Fulham have now qualified for the quarter-finals of the competition in two of their last three seasons, which is as many times as they had done between 2004-05 and 2021-22, showcasing their recent improvements.
Adama Traore was a key factor in that as his pace caused problems throughout the game, against a team he’s had plenty of issues against this season.
Match Stats | Traore |
Minutes played | 53 |
Accurate passes | 10/12 (83%) |
Successful dribbles | 1/1 (100%) |
Touches | 24 |
The winger got into a spat with United defender Lisandro Martinez earlier in the campaign, with Traore taking a swipe at him on social media during their last meeting.
There were no personal digs this time though Traore made clear he felt Fulham deserved their triumph over United as he shared his feelings on Instagram, “We got the reward we deserved. Not the quarterfinals.”

Man United fans want Ruben Amorim terminated
The result was another hammer blow to United’s season, with the Europa League now being their only chance of silverware in what is proving to be a dismal campaign.
United supporters then took to social media in the aftermath of the fixture to call for Ruben Amorim to be sacked, as patience begins to wain on the Portuguese coach.
Amorim is United’s second manager this season following Erik ten Hag, but he has failed to produce a turnaround in results or performances during his time at Old Trafford.
