‘It’s like a sort of addiction’ – Caixinha reveals Rangers obsession before clash v Motherwell
By James Black
Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha has revealed that he is obsessed with winning as he looks to guide his side to the Scottish League Cup final by beating Motherwell.
The Gers take on Stephen Robinson’s side at Hampden on Sunday afternoon and Caixinha is hoping he can lead his men to their first cup final since he took over in March.
Rangers haven’t won a major trophy since lifting the Scottish Premiership in 2011 and Caixinha wants to put that right and bring success back to Ibrox.
The Portuguese boss admits, however, that if Rangers don’t win then he will be forced to help the Gers will keep working to find success in the future.
“I did it at Santos Laguna in Mexico and it’s like a sort of addiction, you know?” Caixinha said, as quoted by the Daily Record website.
“People are addicted to smoking or eating good or playing sport.
“I am an addict to the win – that’s why I work so hard because my focus is to win.
“And if the addict doesn’t get his fix?
“Keep working.”
Rangers are yet to win three games on the spin since Caixinha was appointed as boss and that is a run the Glasgow club must end if they are to earn a place in next month’s final.
The winners will go on to face Celtic at Hampden on November 26th as Brendan Rodgers side look to successfully defend the trophy.
Rangers and Motherwell have already met this season with the sides clashing on the opening day of the season.
The Gers ran out 2-1 winners after Graham Dorrans’ debut double was enough to seal the three points.
The Steelmen are one point behind Caixinha’s side in the Scottish Premiership and have only lost once in their last eight games.
