Agbonlahor: Douglas Luiz ready to quit Aston Villa for Champions League club after source’s reveal
Douglas Luiz will not sign a new contract at Aston Villa, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Aston Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer claimed Luiz will want to sign for a Champions League club after Arsenal’s interest at the end of the summer transfer window.
Sources told Football Insider last week (9 September) that Arsenal are ready to reignite their interest in the 24-year-old in January.

It is understood that Luiz is keen on the move after the Gunners failed in a series of bids on deadline day worth up to £25million.
The Brazil international only has a year left to run on his contract but Villa valued him at £30million in the summer window.
“I don’t think he’ll sign a new contract now,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“When you know Arsenal are in for you and you know you’ve only got a year left, you’ll see that year out and go on a free transfer.
“That’s what I would do if I had my eyes on a move to a club that is fighting for the Champions League or European football.
“You can’t blame him on that, no. I just don’t see him signing a new contract, to be honest.”

Luiz has only started two Premier League games this season with new signing Boubacar Kamara taking up the defensive midfielder role in Steven Gerrard’s system.
The Olympic champion has played 117 times across all competitions for Aston Villa, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists.
In other news, Kieran Maguire has claimed Aston Villa have banked a “significant deposit” as £200million sponsor news emerges.
