Agbonlahor is convinced about Man City accepting Kyle Walker offer from Aston Villa this summer – ‘definitely’
Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Man City will “definitely” keep Kyle Walker past the summer window despite the queue of Premier League sides looking to secure his services.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, was adamant about the 32-year-old’s future at City after his performances across two legs against Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final.
According to 90min (6 May), West Ham are eyeing a potential summer swoop for Walker – who has just over 12 months remaining on his Man City contract.
Football Insider revealed last month (17 April) that Aston Villa have also set their sights on signing the England international in the off-season.
Walker, who earns a reported £160,000-a-week wage at Man City, has made 35 appearances across all competitions for Pep Guardiola’s side as they close in on a treble this term.
His City future was thrown into doubt earlier this season when Guardiola suggested he cannot play in his new formation – but the right-back has since been restored to the side.
When asked if Walker could depart the Etihad Stadium this summer, Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “I just don’t see it happening.
“Look at the Champions League games against Real Madrid – Kyle Walker starts.
“He’s not going to start in a Champions League semi-final like that and be sold in the summer, a month later.
“Kyle Walker will be at Man City for another couple of years, at least.

“Pep likes younger players but when you’re showing that you can still play at the highest level – there’s no way he’ll be looking to change it.
“I think Kyle Walker stays, definitely.”
