Agbonlahor: Rangers tipped to bin Ryan Kent and teammate as new details emerge

Rangers need to “move on” from Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker insisted Michael Beale should be able to bring in his own players to replace the pair.

Both Kent and Morelos are out of contract at Ibrox at the end of the season but have failed to impress in recent months.

Sources told Football Insider earlier this week (28 November) that the return of Beale to the club will have no impact on Kent’s future.

This site revealed on 1 October that the 26-year-old has rejected a lucrative new contract offer as he wants a move to the Premier League.

Rangers have tried again to tie the winger down to a new deal but he could now agree a pre-contract deal with cross-border or foreign clubs in January.

As quoted by Sky Sports on Friday (2 December), Beale insisted the players do not hold all the cards in contract negotiations.

“I think Ryan Kent and Morelos need to go,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“Rangers need to move on from those two. They are inconsistent and haven’t done enough.

“I feel they definitely need to move on from them and Michael Beale should be able to bring in his own players.”

Kent has scored just one goal in 22 appearances across all competitions this season.

Morelos has found the net three times in 19 games, including just five starts as he has lost his place to summer signing Antonio Colak.

In other news, Rangers are plotting a January move to sign a striker wanted by Celtic.
