Agbonlahor suggests Frank Lampard to ‘run a mile’ from Everton after new reveal
Frank Lampard would “snap the FA’s fingers off” to quit Everton and take the England manager’s job, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Lampard would “run a mile” from Everton due to their poor squad and lack of investment.
As quoted by BBC Sport on Monday (12 December), Gareth Southgate admitted he was “conflicted” about his future with England after their 2-1 defeat to France in the World Cup quarter-finals on Saturday (10 December).

The 52-year-old is out of contract in December 2024 but could decide to quit after a difficult 18 months that saw his side lose 4-0 to Hungary in the Nations League and the European Championship final on penalties.
The Daily Mail reported on Monday (12 December) that Lampard may emerge as a homegrown coach to replace him.
It is claimed that they want Southgate to stay but are also open to appointing a foreign coach with Mauricio Pochettino and Thomas Tuchel linked to the post.
“It all depends on how your club job is,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“If you offered Frank Lampard the England job, he’d snap your fingers off now because it won’t be long before he’s under pressure at Everton. They’ve got no money to spend and the squad’s quite poor.
“If he could escape that job for England now, he’d run a mile.”

Sources told Football Insider last month (19 November) that Everton do not plan to spend big in the January transfer window as Farhad Moshiri believes he backed his manager sufficiently in the summer.
The Blues resume their Premier League campaign fourth from bottom and welcome basement boys Wolves to Goodison Park on Boxing Day.
In other news, Kieran Maguire has claimed that an Everton deal is close as investors visit Bramley-Moore and “it’s real progress”.
