Agbonlahor ‘sure’ about Newcastle United completing ‘mega-money’ Max Kilman deal this summer
Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed a move for Wolves defender Max Kilman would not represent value for money for Newcastle United this summer.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the Magpies have “the world to choose from” and would end up paying “mega-money” for the 25-year-old as he is English.
Sources told this site last week (24 February) that Newcastle are plotting a summer move for Wolves centre-back Kilman but will face stiff competition for his signature.

Football Insider revealed last month (17 February) that the Magpies want to sign a long-term partner for Sven Botman during the off-season despite Fabian Schar’s impressive form.
Kilman, who is under contract until June 2025, has started in each of his 30 appearances for Wolves across all competitions this season.
He is yet to be called up by England despite impressing across three seasons for the Molineux club.
Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “At the moment, their defence is fine for where they are.
“Schar will be the one who comes out because I really like Botman.
“For the right fee, Kilman would be a really good signing. But we know that with English players, that’s not likely to be the case.
“You’re always paying mega-money for English players.

“I think Newcastle have got the whole world to choose from. They could do a lot better, and a lot cheaper, than Kilman.
“I’m sure they’ll make the right choice this summer.”
