‘Alejandro Garnacho could quit Man United’ after new Chelsea update
Alejandro Garnacho is questioning his long-term future at Man United amid growing interest, according to the club’s former chief scout.
Mick Brown, who spent over a decade at Old Trafford during their most successful period and remains very well-connected there, exclusively told Football Insider that the 20-year-old is growing concerned about his playing time.
Garnacho has started just four of the last ten Premier League games under Ruben Amorim, but is keen to play a more regular role as a key part of the starting XI.
This comes after he was heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the January transfer window as the club looked to raise money to invest in Amorim’s squad.
Chelsea and Napoli were both keen to sign Garnacho, but no deal emerged and he remains a Man United player, but their interest is not thought to have faded.
As a result, he is weighing up his options ahead of the summer transfer window and could still make the move away from Old Trafford.

Alejandro Garnacho to make Man United exit decision
Brown told Football Insider earlier this month that Man United are happy to keep Garnacho and are pleased he remained at the club amid ongoing exit links.
Now, the former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment and also worked as a scout for the likes of Tottenham and Aston Villa, insisted the winger will have to make a decision about where his long-term future lies.
“Garnacho is going to start to question his future at Man United,” he told Football Insider.
“There was a lot of talk about him possible leaving in January, and now he’s struggling to start regular games under Amorim.
“He’s done very well up to a point, but he’s not got to show a level of consistency in his play.
“That’s what Ruben Amorim is looking for, because there’s been a question mark over that.
“But he’s come off the bench and made a difference in every game he’s come on.
“He’s capable of performing against the best sides, so they should be working to get the best out of him and that’s a job for the coaches and the manager.
“Somewhere down the line, it has to become clear about what his role is.
“If you keep leaving him out of the team, but he’s proving what he can do when he comes on, it’s no wonder he’s thinking about a move away.
“That’s a decision he’ll have to make for himself though, does he want to fight for his place at United or will he go in search of better playing time somewhere else?
“I don’t think that interest from January has gone away, so I wouldn’t rule that out.”

Kobbie Mainoo future undecided at Old Trafford
Garnacho’s potential departure during the January transfer window came amid concerns surrounding profit and sustainability rules and a need for the club to raise profits.
The owners have come under fire after INEOS’ staff and budget cuts at Man United left many questioning their decisions at the top of the club.
In the meantime, they could look to part ways with one of their star academy graduates as Brown told Football Insider that Man United plan to sell Kobbie Mainoo.
Mainoo’s exit, and the money received for his sale, would allow them to cover for the excessive spending and mistakes made previously as they scramble to avoid financial rule breaches.
