Ally McCoist tips Ange Postecoglou for shock new job: ‘No problem’
It hasn’t even been a week since Ange Postecoglou was sacked by Tottenham, but Ally McCoist has already tipped the 59-year-old for a new role.
Postecoglou was dismissed by Spurs, despite guiding them to their first trophy in 17 years, with the official statement blaming the club’s poor domestic campaign for the decision.
The North London club fell to their worst-ever Premier League finish last season, ending up 17th with just 38 points to their name.
As the campaign drew towards its conclusion, Tottenham put their full focus on the Europa League, but won just one of their final 12 domestic games as a result.

McCoist tips Postecoglou for international role
There was an outpouring of gratitude and appreciation from the Tottenham squad after Postecoglou’s exit, with the majority of players sending messages to their former manager.
Among Spurs fans there was outrage at the decision, with many supporters disappointed that Daniel Levy had decided to sack the ex-Celtic boss.
Speaking live on talkSPORT, former Rangers boss McCoist revealed that he would be happy with Postecoglou taking the Scotland manager’s job, saying: “He’d do me, absolutely. I would have no problem with it at all.
“He wins things, that’s what he does. I would enjoy Big Ange managing my national team.”

Tottenham close in on Frank
Despite sacking Postecoglou just last week, Levy has already decided who his replacement will be, with the news expected to be confirmed in the coming days.
Thomas Frank is set to join Tottenham, with the North London club reportedly paying £10million to Brentford to secure his services.
The 51-year-old originally joined the Bees as assistant manager back in 2016, before being promoted to the more senior role two years later.
Frank guided Brentford to the Premier League in 2021, and has since helped the club stabilise itself in the Premier League.
Last season, the West London side finished 10th in the top flight, but despite the fact they were 18 points clear of Tottenham at the end of the campaign, Frank is still set to make the switch.
| Position | Team | Games | Points |
| 10th | Brentford | 38 | 56 |
| 17th | Tottenham | 38 | 38 |
The Dane has done an exceptional job at Brentford, but Spurs have a reputation for ruining some of the best managers in the world, so success is far from a given.
