Amad Diallo reacts to Harry Maguire’s delirious message to Man United fans
Harry Maguire had a message for the Man United supporters after they beat Athletic Club amid ongoing speculation about his future.
Man United cruised into the Europa League final with a commanding 4-1 victory over Athletic Club, sealing their place in the final after an impressive two-legged display.
The Red Devils held a 3-0 advantage from the first leg, but it was the visitors who struck first at Old Trafford, with Mikel Jauregizar scoring a stunning opener following a lapse in concentration from Maguire.
Despite the early setback, Mason Mount proved to be the unlikely hero for Ruben Amorim’s side. He equalised with a composed turn and finish before goals from Casemiro and Rasmus Hojlund swung the tie firmly back in United’s favour.
Mount then rounded off the performance with a remarkable long-range strike after capitalising on a misplaced pass from goalkeeper Julen Agirrezebala.
Meanwhile Maguire recovered from his mistake and he still made a point to share a message with supporters after helping the team reach the final.
Harry Maguire set for sit-down talks over new Man United contract
Despite a mixed performance, the defender shared a deliriously excited message on Instagram after the match, writing: “Follow, Follow, Follow. Cause United Are Going To Bilbao” referencing the popular Man United chant.
He earned reactions from teammates such as Amad, goalscorer Mount and Joshua Zirkzee who all liked the post.
Maguire has enjoyed something of a resurgence under Amorim, becoming an integral part of the squad and playing a key role in their build-up play from the back.
His contributions look set to be rewarded, as former Man United chief scout Mick Brown revealed on 7 May that Man United plan to offer Maguire a new contract at the end of the season.
Amorim’s desire to keep the England international comes after initial doubts from supporters, who questioned the manager’s faith in Maguire when reports of an extension first emerged back in January. However, he has since established himself as a consistent and reliable presence in the starting XI.
Now, the club are keen to secure his future beyond the current expiry of his contract in June 2026.

Man United confident of sealing Viktor Gyokeres transfer despite Arsenal interest
Alongside plans for Maguire, United are also moving ahead with their summer recruitment strategy.
Football Insider revealed Man United are confident that their deal to sign Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres is a “done deal” ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
Arsenal remain in the race and are still holding talks, but United are hopeful that Amorim’s existing relationship with Gyokeres after their title-winning season last year, will give them the edge in the battle for his signature.
