Ange Postecoglou has Celtic ‘dilemma’ after Callum McGregor latest – McAvennie
Frank McAvennie has insisted Callum McGregor’s injury will be giving Ange Postecoglou a “dilemma” at Celtic.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Hoops striker said the decline in the side was “noticeable” after McGregor was injured against RB Leipzig on Wednesday (5 October).
The 29-year-old was forced off in the first half of the Champions League clash.
The Bhoys went on to lose the game 3-1.
As quoted by the Daily Record (5 October), Postecoglou said the skipper’s injury “doesn’t look good”.
Summer signing Oliver Abildgaard replaced the captain to make his second appearance for the Celts.
McAvennie insisted losing McGregor is a blow for the Green and Whites.
“They have definitely not got anyone like Callum, losing him is huge,” he told Football Insider.
“I heard someone say last night, and it is so simple that a lot of people will not get it, he plays all the hard balls, which are the easy ones. He just keeps the ball easy whereas everyone else tries to hit 30 yard passes, he just keeps the ball rolling.

“You miss him because of his composure in midfield. Hopefully it is not going to be too long. Even in the second half when he was on they were getting run over the top of. Abildgaard, after a couple of games, I think he could be a decent player.
“It is a dilemma for Ange but I am hoping he is not going to be out for long. It was certainly noticeable against Leipzig.“
