Ange Postecoglou to Leeds United? ‘Shock’ update after Daniel Farke sack news
Ange Postecoglou is being considered for a fast return to Premier League football as Leeds United weigh up moving to replace Daniel Farke.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Postecoglou is one of a number of big-name bosses on Leeds‘ shortlist.
This comes after Football Insider exclusively revealed that Leeds will give Farke two games to save his job as they are desperate to turn around results as soon as possible.
As a result, the odds of Postecoglou joining Leeds have been slashed, with increasing suggestions the former Nottingham Forest boss could step into the role.
However, the Australian is not expected to be the front-runner for the role, with doubts about whether he would have the desired impact of keeping Leeds in the Premier League.

Leeds United unlikely to appoint Ange Postecoglou
Brown told Football Insider on 1 December that Farke is facing growing calls for his sacking with the club to be forced into making a decision “soon”.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience working alongside elite-level managers including the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson for over a decade at Man United, insisted that while Farke could soon part ways, a move for Postecoglou is unlikely.
“Postecoglou is somebody Leeds will look at, I’m sure,” he told Football Insider.
“There’s been a lot of talk about their managerial situation, lots of named being mentioned because they’re not sure Farke is the man to help them stay up.
“But Postecoglou, I’m not sure he’ll be at the top of their list, I think they’ve got reservations.
“He wouldn’t have the assets at Leeds to play in the way Tottenham did, with their high line, pressing and non-stop attacking football.
“And we saw at Nottingham Forest what happens when they players aren’t suited to that system, they couldn’t get rid of him quickly enough.

“I’d be shocked if Leeds were willing to take that gamble on him, because ultimately it’s their place in the Premier League at stake.
“If they decide to sack Farke, they want somebody who they think can win them enough games to help them stay up, and there are doubts about whether Postecoglou is that man.”
Postecoglou’s stance on Premier League return revealed
Postecoglou was sacked by Nottingham Forest after just 39 days in charge as he failed to win any of his eight games after replacing Nuno Espirito Santo at the City Ground.
Following his dismissal, the boss has been linked with a number of opportunities to make a quick return to top-level management.
However, Football Insider revealed Postecoglou is planning to take a break from football to recoup rather than rushing into a new role immediately.
Following his difficult spell at Forest, there was a feeling that the manager rushed into the job after leaving Tottenham, and is keen not to make the same mistake.
This came as Postecoglou was linked with a return to Celtic, who have had their own managerial issues after Leeds-linked Brendan Rodgers decided to resign.
