Report: Another Leeds deal imminent as Christiansen revolution continues
By Harry Sykes
Leeds are homing in on their seventh signing of the summer with striker Caleb Ekuban due to undergo a medical, according to a report.
The Yorkshire Evening Post report that Ekuban is “on the verge” of signing for Leeds and should be confirmed in the next few days.
The YEP claims that Thomas Christiansen wants to push the Ekuban deal through in time for the club’s pre-season trip to Austria on Friday.
The YEP reports that Ekuban will undergo a medical in the next two days, a claim that was corroborated by reliable journalist Joe Rawson, who works for Radio Yorkshire, on his Twitter page.
23-year-old Ekuban came through the Chievo youth ranks and has been there for six years, although he hasn’t made a single appearance for the first team.
He’s been loaned out to several clubs over the years, most recently to FK Partizani in Albania, where he made 42 appearances, scoring 18 goals and adding five assists.
Ekuban would become Leeds’ seventh signing of the summer after Samuel Saiz, Mateusz Klich, Felix Wiedwald, Vurnon Anita, Pontus Jansson and Hadi Sacko.
In other Leeds transfer news, Harry Redknapp has delivered his verdict on Thomas Christiansen’s new-look side.
